SAZERAC has five 3.5 hour sessions over 6-9 July. Each session will consist of two 90 minute sub-sessions with a 30 min break between. Four sessions will begin at 1330 UTC (0630/0930 US West/East Coast, 1430 in UK, 2230 in Tokyo) and one session will begin at 0800 UTC (0100/0400 US West/East Coast, 0900 in UK, 1700 in Tokyo). Talks will be 10 minutes long with 3 minutes for live questions and 2 minutes for handover.
You can download an iCalendar (.ics) file containing the dates/times of the sessions/sub-sessions here.
Tip: Hovering over the session ID provides the time in multiple timezones, hovering over the name provides the institution and email address, and hovering over the title shows the abstract.
The large number (150) of live talk request submissions forced us to focus on early career researchers (ECRs) and specifically penultimate or final year PhD students and junior post-docs. Each submission was then blindly (i.e. without reference to the name or institution) and independently by 12 members of the SOC. Submissions were ranked equally based on relevance and excitement. To account for scoring differences between the different SOC members each members scores were normalised, however this made little difference to the overall ranking. The top 60 talks were then selected and invited to participate.
